Instructions for authors

Oral presentations will take the form of live-streamed pre-recorded videos followed by Q&A sessions,  while poster presentations will take the form of live-streamed pre-recorded video introductions followed  by online chat room discussions.

 

Here is how it will work:

 

Oral presentations

 

 

Presenters are requested to:

- prepare a typical slideshow presentation of their paper. Please be sure the presentation includes the title of the paper, the authors, and a mention to SMC 2020;

- before **Friday, June 5**: upload to the following Dropbox link https://www.dropbox.com/request/F8gbXAqrj6U2M6E6J6wx a video of their presentation consisting of voice over slides (optionally with webcam). Please use the following guidelines for preparing the video:

   - Duration: 10(min)-15(max) minutes

   - File size: unlimited

   - Format: mp4

   - Resolution: 1920 x 1080

   - Aspect ratio: 16:9

   - Naming scheme: "paper ID".mp4

- on **June 24-26** (exact date and time TBD): be available to address questions and remarks from the audience at a live Q&A session following video presentation on the SMC 2020 YouTube channel.

 

 

Poster presentations

 

 

Presenters are requested to:

- prepare an illustrative digital poster of the work they are presenting. The poster must be in Landscape format and be readable on a standard full-size computer screen. Please be sure the poster includes the title of the paper, the authors, and a mention to SMC 2020;

- before **Friday, June 5**: upload to the following Dropbox link https://www.dropbox.com/request/F8gbXAqrj6U2M6E6J6wx a short introductory video consisting of voice over the digital poster (optionally with webcam). Please use the following guidelines for preparing the video:

   - Maximum duration: 90 seconds

   - File size: unlimited

   - Format: mp4

   - Resolution: 1920 x 1080

   - Aspect ratio: 16:9

   - Naming scheme: "paper ID".mp4

- on **June 24-26** (exact date and time TBD): be available to present the digital poster and address questions and remarks from interested participants in a dedicated Skype chat room (1-hour time slot).

 

All pre-recorded videos will be streamed on YouTube during the original dates of the conference (June 24-26) and will be available on-demand after the conference concludes. By sending their videos, authors authorise the SMC 2020 committee to include their work in the SMC 2020 YouTube channel. Furthermore, online participation is considered as a requirement for papers to be published in the SMC 2020 Proceedings.
